How is it with your soul? Do you miss the fellowship with members of your Grace Church family? Are you hungry for spiritual growth? Would you like to connect with others in a small group setting (6 – 8 people)? If you answer affirmatively, (or even if you’re just curious), you’re encouraged to participate in a 4-month, three-part spiritual journey to focus on prayer, faith stories, and personal connection as we begin 2021. This project begins with these small groups (which may meet in hosts’ homes, at the church, or on-line) for 6 weeks.
We will then take a two-week break before reading and discussing Peter Enn’s book, “The Sin of Certainty” which promises to prompt some food for thought as we confront divisions not only in our denomination, but in our society. Our book study will begin February 28; we will complete the first half of the book by March 21, then take a break for Easter, and read and discus the second half of the book after April 11. The third element of our study is to reflect on what we’ve learned, strategize on where we might go next in our faith walks, and to re-commit ourselves to our mission to “know Jesus and make him known to others.” Groups will conclude their meetings the week of May 2.
Please indicate your interest by contacting the Pastor Rett. We’re happy to respond to questions about this study and we encourage you to take part, even if you need to miss a meeting occasionally. 2020 has been a challenging year for all of us, and we hope, through this effort, to re-energize our congregation, re-commit ourselves to Christian education, and continue to build the bonds that make for a strong Church family. We look forward to your participation! Please direct questions to Rev. Rett or to Julie Rotholz. We’re excited to see you in January!
